I had the privilege of working alongside Lucy Sally Sommer on her beautiful project, Heritage Recipes. What began as short-form social content on Instagram and TikTok was expanded into a longer-form YouTube series, exploring the way food connects us to our roots. The series shares the warmth of home and the togetherness of family by preserving heritage recipes to be passed down through generations —celebrating Lucy’s heritage and those of her guests through food and storytelling.

My role was to help capture and document these conversations, filming Lucy as she connected with guests from diverse backgrounds, hearing their childhood stories and traditions, and of course, sharing in the joy of tasting their cherished family dishes. It was a wonderful experience to be part of a project that highlights how food not only nourishes us, but also keeps culture, memory, and identity alive.
